Below are basic requirements potential applicants need to know before apply for enlistment. Please make sure you read and understand the following. Remember getting into this unit is not something to rush and should be given a lot of thought. Also know that these are only basic guidlines and do not include all of the unit regulations, most other things normally involve common sense so we hope your good their. If you have and questions requarding any of this contact the Battalion Recruitment Officer on our forums. 1. Also know we have a low age requirement of 15. Those close to and under 15 can get a waiver from the approperaite authoirty. We still require our members, reguardless of age to act in a mature manor. We understand joking around sometimes, but that is done in private between members of the unit. Messing around during drills, or being annoying to others who don't want to be bothered will not be tolerated. This also includes your actions around anyone not in this unit (i.e. public players) and those in other units. You must always act mature in our server as well. When our members do have the occisional goof of times, the respect and conduct towards others is still keep at the same standard. 2. All information on the enlistment request that is not listed under optional is required. NO EXCEPTIONS. Failing to do so will result in a denial. Look at it this way, you want a good job you don't submit a sloppy or incomplete resume/application, same thing here. If you want to be a member of this great unit you might want to look at it the same way. But do not lie about anything on your application. Those who do will be discharged for fradulent enlistment, and we take this seriously. Just know there is no point in lieing about anything on your application. Remember, integirty will get you much further in this unit. The last thing to remember, this is NOT a clan, we are a realism unit if you have not read it about 20 times by now. 3. Those who are found to have enrollment/membership in another realism gaming unit in our community or in any type of unit/clan will be denied, NO EXCEPTIONS. If you very recently left another unit your request may also still be denied for a short period, but not always. You also cannot currently be applying for another unit or be in a tryout/recruit status with another group. This goes for all games. If you have any problem with this then we don't feel you really want to have any dedication towards this unit. If you want to be apart of this unit then you need to show your willingness to dedicate yourself to it. 4. If your application is approved by recruitment it does not mean it has been accepted, it still needs to be reviewed by Battalion. If you become an applicant and have been accepted by recruitment you must wear your applicant tag at all times in game, as the instructions tell you to have it when you get accepted. All members must always wear their tag once a member while playing Insurgency and Day of Defeat: Source.. No edits are allowed to your tag, i.e. adding (No Sound) or things of that nature to your tag. 5. Note that the lastname on your application is your game name with this unit and must be in good taste. You can make up a lastname but it must be in good taste and it will remain your name while in this unit, and used for official unit documentation such as promotions, awards, discharges, etc. 6. You must have in operation the Ventrilo voice communication program and have a decent working microphone/headset, we also frown upon constant background noise as it affects communication during meetings and combat operations. If you can solve issues with background noise try getting a very good noise canceling microphone to help in reducing the noise. You MUST have a mic w/ headphones as speakers cause most of this bad feedback. We will and do deny people with terrible mic's, as voice communitaion is vital to unit operations. No execptions for not having a microphone. If you are intrested in this unit but have not motivation to come into ventrilo at all, just hit the door now. This is the best way for us to get to know you, and Battalion will not accept applicants if they know nothing about them. 7. Know that this unit is NOT a CAL team, and never will be. If you have ideas for going into CAL or starting something with CAL ora similar league, about face or rear march and head out now. We are not going to get involved in a community full of immature people who have big egos and think they are big and bad behind a keyboard and think they can be disrespectful. Dont get us wrong, the CAL league is not bad, but its not realism gameplay, and the community that is around it is not something we want to be involved with. 8. All unit members must be active, those who need to miss a practice are to post LOA's. We also will grant long term LOA's for military personnel etc. We understand that real life comes first, so if our members have issues to attend to, vacation, or something else, its not a problem. We want our members to be active on our forums, gameserver, and the vent server as much as possible. The other folks of this unit also want our younger members who are in school to make sure they do not allow their grades to fall. Our officers will take action to reduce the time down to only unit drills if need be so our younger members do not fall behind in school work. Again we understand the importance of real life. If needed we may even place them on reserve status and not even come to drills. Parents with concern who are reading this are welcome to work with our Battalion Commander and other officers on working these things out and helping your kids the best we can. Parents and kids should also note that that fellow members and older officers and NCO's can and will help you (your son/daughter) with homework or anything else that we can possibly assist them with. Remember unlike many other units, the goal of this unit is to provide support for individuals to be successful. 9. All members must have their own steam account. If you regularly share your account with someone else it creates problems for us. If you dont own your own account you need to get one, and if you share one you will need to have your "friend" etc. get their own account, or just not play on a regular basis. Someone else playing now and then is not to much of a problem. If you are found to be sharing a account you can face up to a dishonorable discharge from our unit. This can also result in a ban from our servers and website/forum. |
